Meshclass, Inc. ("Meshclass," "we," "us," or "our") provides the Japanese learning platform "Meshclass" (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we collect it, how we use it, when we share it with third parties including AI service providers, and the choices available to you. We handle personal information in accordance with applicable privacy laws and regulations.

1. Personal Information We Collect

The personal information we collect depends on how you use the Service, including whether you register an account, purchase a service, publish content, or use AI-based functions.

(1) Account and Authentication Information

When you create or update an account, we collect information such as your name, email address, password, account ID, account type, and authentication-related records.

(2) Profile Information

You may choose to provide profile information such as hometown, current address, hobbies, introduction text, location, photos, and other profile details. Information you choose to publish in your profile may be visible to other users.

(3) Learning and Shared Content

We collect content you create or submit through the Service, such as course comments, ratings, messages, assignments, study records, audio responses, text responses, school-posted videos, and other user-generated content. Content you post in public or shared areas of the Service may be visible to other users.

(4) Payment Information

When students purchase courses or subscriptions, payment information such as name, billing address, postal code, and payment details is provided directly to our payment processors or app store operators. We do not store full credit card numbers or card verification data. When schools receive payouts from us, we collect the bank account information necessary to complete those payments.

(5) Device, Log, and Usage Information

We automatically collect technical and usage information such as IP address, device and browser information, app version, access logs, pages or screens viewed, timestamps, cookies, and information about how the Service is used.

(6) AI Feature Inputs and Outputs

If you use AI-based learning features, we collect the information needed to provide those features. Depending on the feature, this may include text you type, learning content shown in the lesson, your answers, chat history, prompts, voice recordings or speech input, generated audio, AI-generated feedback, translations, and related metadata such as language or lesson context.

2. How We Collect Personal Information

  1. Directly from you when you create an account, complete your profile, purchase a service, communicate with us, or use learning and AI features
  2. Automatically through the Service by using cookies, logs, and similar technologies
  3. From payment processors, app store operators, or other service providers when needed to confirm transactions, subscriptions, or account-related events

3. How We Use Personal Information

  1. To provide, maintain, and improve the Service
  2. To create and manage accounts and verify user identity
  3. To provide courses, lessons, messaging, comments, and other community or learning functions
  4. To process payments, subscriptions, refunds, payouts, and related accounting operations
  5. To respond to inquiries, send notices, and provide customer support
  6. To personalize content, recommendations, language support, and learning experiences
  7. To provide AI-based features such as chat, lecture support, text feedback, speech-related assistance, translations, and generated learning support
  8. To analyze usage, conduct research, improve our products, and develop new functions
  9. To detect, prevent, and investigate fraud, abuse, security incidents, and violations of our terms or applicable law
  10. To comply with legal obligations and exercise or defend legal rights

4. AI Services and Third-Party AI Providers

Some features of the Service use third-party AI services to generate responses, feedback, speech, translations, or other learning support. When you use these AI features, Meshclass may send the data necessary to provide the feature to third-party AI service providers.

(1) Data That May Be Sent to AI Providers

Depending on the feature you use, the following categories of data may be sent: text you enter, chat history, lesson or assignment content, your answers, speech or audio input, language settings, and related context needed to generate an output. We do not send payment card numbers or card verification data to AI providers.

(2) AI Providers We Use

Our current AI-related service providers include OpenAI, LLC, Google LLC and its Google Cloud / Vertex AI / Gemini services, and Google Cloud Text-to-Speech / Google Cloud Translation services.

(3) Why We Share This Data

We share this information only to provide the AI feature you requested, such as generating explanations, evaluating responses, supporting AI conversation or lecture experiences, generating speech, or translating content.

(4) Use of AI Features

When you choose to use an AI-based feature, Meshclass processes and shares the data necessary to provide that feature with the relevant third-party AI service provider described in this Policy.

(5) Protection by Service Providers

We require our third-party service providers, including AI providers, to protect personal information appropriately under contracts, terms, or other binding safeguards, and to use the information only for the purposes of providing services to Meshclass or as otherwise permitted by applicable law.

5. Sharing of Personal Information with Third Parties

We do not sell your personal information. We may disclose or provide personal information to third parties in the following cases.
  1. With your consent
  2. To payment processors, app store operators, financial institutions, and payout partners to process payments, subscriptions, refunds, or remittances
  3. To hosting providers, analytics providers, communications providers, AI providers, and other contractors that support operation of the Service
  4. When required by law, regulation, court order, or governmental request
  5. When necessary to protect the rights, safety, property, or security of users, Meshclass, or others
  6. In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, sale of assets, or similar corporate transaction

6. Cookies and Similar Technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember settings, understand usage of the Service, improve performance, and support security and analytics. You can control cookies through your browser settings, but some functions of the Service may not work properly if cookies are disabled.

7. Data Management and Security

We take reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect personal information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure. We also supervise contractors appropriately when they handle personal information on our behalf.

8. Retention of Personal Information

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, including providing the Service, meeting legal or accounting obligations, resolving disputes, and enforcing our agreements.

9. Your Rights and Choices

Subject to applicable law, you may request access to, correction of, deletion of, or suspension of use of your personal information. You may also choose not to use AI features or decline permission for personal data to be sent to third-party AI providers, although some features may then be unavailable.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will post the updated Policy on the Service and, where required, provide notice through the Service or by other appropriate means.

Meshclass株式会社（以下「当社」といいます。）は、日本語学習プラットフォーム「Meshclass」（以下「本サービス」といいます。）を提供しています。本ポリシーは、当社がどのような個人情報を取得し、どのように取得し、どのように利用し、第三者（AIサービス提供者を含みます。）にどのような場合に提供するか、ならびにお客様が利用できる選択肢について説明するものです。当社は、適用される個人情報保護法令その他関連法令に従って個人情報を取り扱います。

1. 当社が取得する個人情報

当社が取得する個人情報は、お客様による本サービスの利用方法、アカウント登録、購入、投稿、AI機能の利用状況等によって異なります。

(1) アカウント・認証情報

アカウントの作成又は更新時に、氏名、メールアドレス、パスワード、アカウントID、アカウント種別、認証に関する記録等を取得します。

(2) プロフィール情報

出身地、現住所、趣味、自己紹介文、所在地、写真その他プロフィール情報を任意で登録することができます。お客様が公開設定したプロフィール情報は、他の利用者から閲覧される場合があります。

(3) 学習・共有コンテンツ

コメント、評価、メッセージ、課題、学習記録、音声回答、テキスト回答、学校が投稿する動画、その他本サービス上で作成又は送信されるコンテンツを取得します。公開領域又は共有領域に投稿した情報は、他の利用者に表示される場合があります。

(4) 支払情報

学生会員がコース又はサブスクリプションを購入する場合、氏名、請求先住所、郵便番号、支払情報等が、決済代行会社又はアプリストア事業者に直接提供されます。当社は、クレジットカード番号の全桁やセキュリティコードを保管しません。学校会員への支払のためには、送金に必要な銀行口座情報を取得します。

(5) 端末・ログ・利用情報

IPアドレス、端末情報、ブラウザ情報、アプリバージョン、アクセスログ、閲覧したページ又は画面、日時、Cookie、本サービスの利用状況等の技術情報・利用情報を自動的に取得します。

(6) AI機能の入力・出力情報

AI学習機能を利用する場合、その提供に必要な情報を取得します。機能に応じて、入力したテキスト、レッスンや教材の内容、回答内容、チャット履歴、プロンプト、音声録音又は発話入力、生成された音声、AIによるフィードバック、翻訳結果、言語設定、レッスン文脈等が含まれます。

2. 個人情報の取得方法

  1. お客様がアカウントを作成し、プロフィールを入力し、購入し、お問い合わせを行い、学習機能又はAI機能を利用する際に、お客様から直接取得する方法
  2. Cookie、ログその他これらに類する技術を用いて自動的に取得する方法
  3. 支払状況、サブスクリプション状況、アカウント関連事象を確認するために、決済代行会社、アプリストア事業者その他のサービス提供者から取得する方法

3. 個人情報の利用目的

  1. 本サービスの提供、維持、改善のため
  2. アカウントの作成、管理及び本人確認のため
  3. コース、レッスン、メッセージ、コメントその他の学習機能又はコミュニティ機能を提供するため
  4. 決済、サブスクリプション、返金、送金及びこれらに付随する会計処理のため
  5. お問い合わせ対応、通知送信及びカスタマーサポートのため
  6. コンテンツ、推奨表示、言語表示及び学習体験の最適化・個別化のため
  7. AIチャット、AIレッスン補助、テキストフィードバック、音声関連支援、翻訳その他AI機能を提供するため
  8. 利用分析、調査研究、品質改善及び新機能開発のため
  9. 不正利用、濫用、セキュリティ事故、規約違反又は法令違反の検知、防止及び調査のため
  10. 法令上の義務の履行並びに権利行使又は防御のため

4. AIサービス及び第三者AI提供者について

本サービスの一部機能では、回答、解説、評価、音声、翻訳その他の学習支援を生成するために第三者のAIサービスを利用します。お客様がこれらのAI機能を利用する場合、当社は当該機能の提供に必要なデータを第三者AIサービス提供者に送信することがあります。

(1) AI提供者に送信される可能性があるデータ

機能に応じて、入力テキスト、チャット履歴、レッスン又は課題の内容、回答内容、音声又は発話入力、言語設定、生成に必要な関連文脈等を送信することがあります。なお、クレジットカード番号やセキュリティコードをAI提供者に送信することはありません。

(2) 当社が利用するAI関連提供者

当社が現在利用するAI関連サービス提供者には、OpenAI, LLC、Google LLC並びに同社のGoogle Cloud、Vertex AI、Gemini、Google Cloud Text-to-Speech及びGoogle Cloud Translationの各サービスが含まれます。

(3) 送信目的

これらの情報は、お客様が希望したAI機能を提供する目的に限って送信されます。たとえば、解説の生成、回答評価、AI会話又はAIレッスン体験の提供、音声生成、翻訳等のためです。

(4) AI機能の利用

お客様がAI機能の利用を選択した場合、当社は当該機能の提供に必要なデータを、本ポリシーに記載した第三者AIサービス提供者と共有して処理します。

(5) 委託先による保護

当社は、AI提供者を含む第三者サービス提供者に対し、契約、利用条件その他拘束力のある保護措置に基づき、個人情報を適切に保護し、当社へのサービス提供又は適用法令で認められる範囲でのみ利用することを求めます。

5. 個人情報の第三者提供

当社は、お客様の個人情報を販売しません。次の場合には、個人情報を第三者に開示又は提供することがあります。
  1. お客様の同意がある場合
  2. 決済、サブスクリプション、返金又は送金を処理するために、決済代行会社、アプリストア事業者、金融機関又は送金関連事業者へ提供する場合
  3. 本サービスの運営を支援するホスティング事業者、解析事業者、通信事業者、AI提供者その他の委託先へ提供する場合
  4. 法令、裁判所命令又は行政機関の要請に基づく場合
  5. お客様、当社又は第三者の権利、安全、財産又はセキュリティを保護するために必要な場合
  6. 合併、買収、資金調達、事業再編、資産譲渡その他これらに類する取引に関連する場合

6. Cookieその他類似技術

当社は、ログイン状態の維持、設定の記憶、本サービスの利用状況の把握、性能改善、セキュリティ対応及び解析のために、Cookieその他類似技術を利用します。Cookieはブラウザ設定で制御できますが、無効化すると本サービスの一部機能が利用できなくなる場合があります。

7. 個人情報の管理と安全管理措置

当社は、個人情報への不正アクセス、漏えい、滅失、改ざん又は不正利用を防止するため、合理的な組織的、技術的及び物理的安全管理措置を講じます。また、委託先に個人情報を取り扱わせる場合には、必要かつ適切な監督を行います。

8. 個人情報の保存期間

当社は、本ポリシーに記載した目的の達成に必要な期間、法令上又は会計上の義務の履行に必要な期間、紛争解決及び契約執行に必要な期間、個人情報を保管します。

9. お客様の権利と選択肢

適用法令に従い、お客様は、ご自身の個人情報について、開示、訂正、削除又は利用停止を求めることができます。また、AI機能を利用しないことや、第三者AI提供者への個人データ送信に関する許可を拒否することもできますが、その場合、一部機能を利用できないことがあります。

10. 本ポリシーの変更

当社は、本ポリシーを随時変更することがあります。重要な変更を行う場合には、本サービス上で更新後のポリシーを掲載し、必要に応じて本サービス内その他適切な方法により通知します。
