い-adjective

く-form (Continuative form)

  • A conjugation of い-adjectives, which is also known as 連用形 (renyou-kei) or the continuative form, and is used to describe verbs or adjectives like an adverb.
  • To form the く-form, add く to the stem of an い-adjective.

Example Sentences

  • 髪(かみ)を短(みじか)く切(き)りました。
    I cut my hair short.
  • 先生(せんせい)は、字(じ)を大(おお)きく書(か)きます。
    The teacher writes in large characters.
  • 授業(じゅぎょう)に遅(おく)れるよ！早(はや)く行(い)こう。
    We're going to be late for class! Let's go quickly.
  • 駅(えき)の近(ちか)くのスーパーは、パンを安(やす)く売(う)っている。
    The supermarket near the station sells bread cheaply.
  • 先生(せんせい)は厳(きび)しいので、もっと優(やさ)しく教(おし)えてほしいです。
    The teacher is strict, so I wish they would teach more gently.
