[Grammar pattern] V(て) + てくださる: Meaning and Example Sentences

A grammar pattern used in a polite and respectful way to describe actions done by someone of higher status for the speaker or someone related to the speaker.
It is often used in a business context to describe that someone in a senior position does an actiion for for the speaker.
Note that since "くださる" is the respectful form of the verb "くれる", "V(て) + てくださる" serves as the respectful expression of the grammar pattern "V(て) + てくれる".

先(せん)生(せい)が、日(に)本(ほん)語(ご)の本(ほん)を貸(か)してくださいました。

The teacher lent me a Japanese book.
部(ぶ)長(ちょう)が、私(わたし)の仕(し)事(ごと)を褒(ほ)めてくださいました。

The department head praised my work.
山(やま)田(だ)課(か)長(ちょう)が、私(わたし)のレポートをチェックしてくださった。

Section Chief Yamada checked my report for me.
