Passive form (Inanimate object)
- One of the uses of the passive form to convey objective information on inanimate objects including physical objects and events.
- This usage can be used when the inanimate objects are directly affected by an action performed by someone or something else. This is also known as the direct passive with inanimate objects.
- In this usage, the giver of the action is often omitted as they are not considered important.
- It is often used to report social facts or matters in a neutral and objective manner, such as TV news, newspapers, or books.
