Verb

あげる

  • A verb used to describe the act of giving something to someone from the giver's perspective.
  • It is often used with the following pattern:
    [Giver] が [Receiver] に [Object] を あげる。
  • If the giver is 私, the 私が part in the pattern above is often omitted.
  • Since the verb あげる is used to describe the action from the giver's perspective, the receiver cannot be 私.
