Particle

の (Position)

  • One of the uses of the particle "の" to indicate the location or position of something relative to another object.
  • After "の", nouns that indicate position, such as "上 (うえ, up)", "下 (した, down)", "右 (みぎ, right)", "左 (ひだり, left)", "中 (なか, inside)", "外 (そと, outside)", "隣 (となり, next to)", "近く (ちかく, near)", and "間 (あいだ, between)", are used."

  • 消(け)しゴムは、机(つくえ)の上(うえ)にあります。
    The eraser is on the desk.
  • アンさんは、あの木(き)の下(した)にいます。
    Ann is under that tree.
  • ドアの右(みぎ)に、電(でん)気(き)のスイッチがある。
