の (Possession and Belonging)

  • One of the uses of the particle の to indicate the possessive or belonging relationship between two nouns.
  • "N1 + の + N2" indicates that N2 is owned by N1 or that N2 belongs to N1.
  • It can be used to connect three or more nouns as in "N1 + の + N2 + の + N3".
