Quantifier

～つ

  • "つ" is a general-purpose counter that can be used for counting various small objects such as apples, eggs, and cups. Note that it cannot be used for numbers 10 and above.

Example Sentences

  • りんごが一(ひと)つあります。
    There is one apple.
  • 昨(きの)日(う)、パンを二(ふた)つ買(か)いました。
    Yesterday, I bought two loaves of bread.
  • 部(へ)屋(や)に、時(と)計(けい)が四(よっ)つあります。
    There are four clocks in the room.
  • 私(わたし)は、かばんが五(いつ)つあります。
    I have five bags.
  • たまごは、全(ぜん)部(ぶ)で八(やっ)つです。
