か (Receipt of information)

  • One of the uses of the sentence-ending particle "か" to indicate that the speaker has received and accepted new information from the other person.
  • It is often used in the phrase "そうですか".

Example Sentences

  • 来(らい)週(しゅう)、旅(りょ)行(こう)ですか。いいですね。
    Are you traveling next week? That sounds nice.
  • 今(きょ)日(う)の昼(ひる)ごはんは、お寿(す)司(し)ですか。おいしそうですね。
    Is today's lunch sushi? It looks delicious.
  • 次(つぎ)の会(かい)議(ぎ)は午(ご)後(ご)3時(じ)ですか。分(わ)かりました。
    Is the next meeting at 3 PM? I understand.
  • この写(しゃ)真(しん)はあなたが撮(と)ったんですか。上(じょう)手(ず)ですね。
    Did you take this photo? It's well done.
  • 趣(しゅ)味(み)は絵(え)を描(か)くことですか。すてきですね。
    Is your hobby drawing pictures? That's wonderful.
