Verb
Command form
- A conjugation of Japanese verbs, which is used to firmly instruct someone to do a particular action.
- To form the command form of a verb, follow the following three rules depending on the verb group:
- Group 1: Replace the ending u-vowel with the e-vowel.
- Group 2: Replace the ending る with ろ.
- Group 3: Follow the unique rule.
- Note that the command form is used to give a command or strong advice to someone, so it is typically used by people in positions of power to give commands to those under their command, among people with close relationship, or in a emergency.
