Privacy Policy

Meshclass, Inc. ("Meshclass," "we," "us," or "our") provides the Japanese learning platform "Meshclass" (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we collect it, how we use it, when we share it with third parties including AI service providers, and the choices available to you. We handle personal information in accordance with applicable privacy laws and regulations.

1. Personal Information We Collect

The personal information we collect depends on how you use the Service, including whether you register an account, purchase a service, publish content, or use AI-based functions.

(1) Account and Authentication Information

When you create or update an account, we collect information such as your name, email address, password, account ID, account type, and authentication-related records.

(2) Profile Information

You may choose to provide profile information such as hometown, current address, hobbies, introduction text, location, photos, and other profile details. Information you choose to publish in your profile may be visible to other users.

(3) Learning and Shared Content

We collect content you create or submit through the Service, such as course comments, ratings, messages, assignments, study records, audio responses, text responses, school-posted videos, and other user-generated content. Content you post in public or shared areas of the Service may be visible to other users.

(4) Payment Information

When students purchase courses or subscriptions, payment information such as name, billing address, postal code, and payment details is provided directly to our payment processors or app store operators. We do not store full credit card numbers or card verification data. When schools receive payouts from us, we collect the bank account information necessary to complete those payments.

(5) Device, Log, and Usage Information

We automatically collect technical and usage information such as IP address, device and browser information, app version, access logs, pages or screens viewed, timestamps, cookies, and information about how the Service is used.

(6) AI Feature Inputs and Outputs

If you use AI-based learning features, we collect the information needed to provide those features. Depending on the feature, this may include text you type, learning content shown in the lesson, your answers, chat history, prompts, voice recordings or speech input, generated audio, AI-generated feedback, translations, and related metadata such as language or lesson context.

(7) Inquiry and Document Request Information

When you contact us or request materials, we collect the information you submit. For individual learner inquiries, this includes your name, email address, and inquiry message. For business inquiries and document requests, this may include the audience or source site, request purpose, organization name, department, position, name, email address, telephone number, expected number of users, anticipated implementation timing, inquiry topics, and inquiry message. Technical information associated with a submission, such as IP address and access records, is covered by subsection (5) above.

(8) Organization-Managed Account Information

If an organization such as an employer, school, educational institution, or public body manages your use of the Service, we collect information such as your organization affiliation, managed-account type, organization-managed user type, roles and permissions, class membership, assigned courses and tasks, seat or license status, learning progress, submissions, scores, reports, rankings, and account records created or managed by the organization.

2. How We Collect Personal Information

  1. Directly from you when you create an account, complete your profile, purchase a service, communicate with us, or use learning and AI features
  2. Automatically through the Service by using cookies, logs, and similar technologies
  3. From payment processors, app store operators, or other service providers when needed to confirm transactions, subscriptions, or account-related events
  4. From an organization that sponsors or manages your account, including its authorized representatives, administrators, and teachers, when they invite or create users, configure access, assign learning activities, or administer the Service

3. Organization-Managed Accounts

  1. An organization-managed account is used under the sponsoring organization's administration and is handled separately from any Meshclass account you use in an individual capacity.
  2. The sponsoring organization may invite or create the account and control organization membership, roles, permissions, classes, assigned courses and tasks, seat allocation, and access to organization functions.
  3. Within the permissions provided by the Service and the organization, authorized representatives, administrators, and teachers may view or manage profile information, learning history, progress, scores, submissions, activity, and reports associated with the managed account.
  4. We use organization-managed account information to provide organization and user administration, classes, assignments, reports, rankings, seat management, billing, security, support, and contract administration.
  5. The sponsoring organization is responsible for having the authority and providing the notices or obtaining the consents required to submit and use personal information and other information about organization-managed users, including taking appropriate measures for minors where required.
  6. For organization-managed accounts, Meshclass enables the AI-processing setting as part of the organization-managed Service. Managed users and the sponsoring organization's administrators cannot change this setting. When a managed user uses an AI feature or undertakes an assigned AI-based activity, Meshclass may transmit the text, audio, answers, and contextual data necessary to provide the feature to the AI providers described in this Policy.
  7. When the organization's contract ends or the organization removes the user, the user may lose access to the managed account and its data. Retention and deletion remain subject to applicable law, legitimate operational needs, and the applicable organization agreement.
  8. Managed users may contact Meshclass directly to exercise rights available under applicable law. Where appropriate, we may coordinate a request with the sponsoring organization without limiting those statutory rights.

4. How We Use Personal Information

  1. To provide, maintain, and improve the Service
  2. To create and manage accounts and verify user identity
  3. To provide courses, lessons, messaging, comments, and other community or learning functions
  4. To administer organization-managed users, permissions, classes, courses, tasks, learning reports, rankings, seats, and organization contracts
  5. To process payments, subscriptions, refunds, payouts, and related accounting operations
  6. To respond to inquiries, send notices, and provide customer support
  7. To deliver requested documents and administer document requests
  8. To communicate about demos, service details, pricing, quotations, and implementation support that you requested
  9. To personalize content, recommendations, language support, and learning experiences
  10. To provide AI-based features such as chat, lecture support, text feedback, speech-related assistance, translations, and generated learning support
  11. To analyze usage, conduct research, improve our products, and develop new functions
  12. To detect, prevent, and investigate fraud, abuse, security incidents, and violations of our terms or applicable law
  13. To comply with legal obligations and exercise or defend legal rights
We do not use inquiry or document request information for unrelated or ongoing marketing.

5. AI Services and Third-Party AI Providers

Some features of the Service use third-party AI services to generate responses, feedback, speech, translations, or other learning support. When you use these AI features, Meshclass may send the data necessary to provide the feature to third-party AI service providers.

(1) Data That May Be Sent to AI Providers

Depending on the feature you use, the following categories of data may be sent: text you enter, chat history, your answers, speech or audio input, language settings, and related context needed to generate an output. We do not send payment card numbers or card verification data to AI providers.

(2) AI Providers We Use

Our current AI-related service providers include Google LLC and its Gemini / Text-to-Speech / Speech-to-Text services.

(3) Why We Share This Data

We share this information only to provide an AI feature you use or, for an organization-managed account, an assigned AI-based activity, such as generating explanations, evaluating responses, supporting AI conversation or lecture experiences, generating speech, or translating content.

(4) Use of AI Features

For an individual account, you may control whether AI-provider processing is enabled through your account settings. When it is enabled and you use an AI-based feature, Meshclass processes and shares the data necessary to provide that feature with the relevant third-party AI service provider described in this Policy. For an organization-managed account, Meshclass enables this setting as part of the organization-managed Service, and neither the managed user nor the sponsoring organization's administrators can change it.

(5) Protection by Service Providers

We require our third-party service providers, including AI providers, to protect personal information appropriately under contracts, terms, or other binding safeguards, and to use the information only for the purposes of providing services to Meshclass or as otherwise permitted by applicable law.

(6) Processing Outside Japan

AI providers and other service providers may process personal information in countries outside Japan. Where applicable, we take measures required by law for that processing, including contractual, technical, organizational, or other binding safeguards. For questions about international processing and applicable safeguards, please contact the Privacy Contact listed below.
Submitting an inquiry or document request does not, by itself, cause the contents of that submission to be sent to an AI provider.

6. Disclosure of and Access to Personal Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may disclose or provide personal information to third parties in the following cases.
  1. With your consent
  2. For an organization-managed account, to the sponsoring organization and its authorized representatives, administrators, and teachers as needed to administer the account and provide organization learning functions
  3. To payment processors, app store operators, financial institutions, and payout partners to process payments, subscriptions, refunds, or remittances
  4. To hosting providers, analytics providers, communications providers, AI providers, and other contractors that support operation of the Service
  5. When required by law, regulation, court order, or governmental request
  6. When necessary to protect the rights, safety, property, or security of users, Meshclass, or others
  7. In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, sale of assets, or similar corporate transaction
Access by a sponsoring organization and its authorized users is operational access governed by the organization's agreement, assigned permissions, and applicable law. It is distinct from processing performed for Meshclass by infrastructure, payment, analytics, communications, and AI service providers.
Inquiry and document request information may be handled by hosting, email, and communications providers acting on behalf of Meshclass to receive, deliver, secure, and manage those communications. These providers may use the information only to provide their services to Meshclass or as otherwise permitted by applicable law.

7. Cookies and Similar Technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember settings, understand usage of the Service, improve performance, and support security and analytics. You can control cookies through your browser settings, but some functions of the Service may not work properly if cookies are disabled.

8. Data Management and Security

We take reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect personal information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure. We also supervise contractors appropriately when they handle personal information on our behalf.

9. Retention of Personal Information

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, including providing the Service, responding to inquiries, managing document requests and related correspondence, meeting legal or accounting obligations, resolving disputes, and enforcing our agreements. For organization-managed accounts, the applicable organization agreement, plan, and Service specifications may also determine access, export, and deletion timing. We may retain information after a user or organization requests deletion or after an organization contract ends when reasonably necessary for legal compliance, billing and accounting, audits, security, fraud prevention, dispute handling, backups, or system operations.

10. Your Rights and Choices

Subject to applicable law, you may request access to, correction of, deletion of, or suspension of use of your personal information. For an organization-managed account, we may coordinate with the sponsoring organization where appropriate, and the organization's contract or lawful retention requirements may affect account access or the timing and scope of deletion. This does not limit rights available to you under applicable law. For an individual account, you may disable AI-provider processing through your account settings; the related AI features will then be unavailable.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will post the updated Policy on the Service and, where required, provide notice through the Service or by other appropriate means.

Meshclass株式会社（以下「当社」といいます。）は、日本語学習プラットフォーム「Meshclass」（以下「本サービス」といいます。）を提供しています。本ポリシーは、当社がどのような個人情報を取得し、どのように取得し、どのように利用し、第三者（AIサービス提供者を含みます。）にどのような場合に提供するか、ならびにお客様が利用できる選択肢について説明するものです。当社は、適用される個人情報保護法令その他関連法令に従って個人情報を取り扱います。

1. 当社が取得する個人情報

当社が取得する個人情報は、お客様による本サービスの利用方法、アカウント登録、購入、投稿、AI機能の利用状況等によって異なります。

(1) アカウント・認証情報

アカウントの作成又は更新時に、氏名、メールアドレス、パスワード、アカウントID、アカウント種別、認証に関する記録等を取得します。

(2) プロフィール情報

出身地、現住所、趣味、自己紹介文、所在地、写真その他プロフィール情報を任意で登録することができます。お客様が公開設定したプロフィール情報は、他の利用者から閲覧される場合があります。

(3) 学習・共有コンテンツ

コメント、評価、メッセージ、課題、学習記録、音声回答、テキスト回答、学校が投稿する動画、その他本サービス上で作成又は送信されるコンテンツを取得します。公開領域又は共有領域に投稿した情報は、他の利用者に表示される場合があります。

(4) 支払情報

学生会員がコース又はサブスクリプションを購入する場合、氏名、請求先住所、郵便番号、支払情報等が、決済代行会社又はアプリストア事業者に直接提供されます。当社は、クレジットカード番号の全桁やセキュリティコードを保管しません。学校会員への支払のためには、送金に必要な銀行口座情報を取得します。

(5) 端末・ログ・利用情報

IPアドレス、端末情報、ブラウザ情報、アプリバージョン、アクセスログ、閲覧したページ又は画面、日時、Cookie、本サービスの利用状況等の技術情報・利用情報を自動的に取得します。

(6) AI機能の入力・出力情報

AI学習機能を利用する場合、その提供に必要な情報を取得します。機能に応じて、入力したテキスト、レッスンや教材の内容、回答内容、チャット履歴、プロンプト、音声録音又は発話入力、生成された音声、AIによるフィードバック、翻訳結果、言語設定、レッスン文脈等が含まれます。

(7) お問い合わせ・資料請求に関する情報

お問い合わせ又は資料請求を行う際に、お客様が送信する情報を取得します。個人の日本語学習者からのお問い合わせでは、氏名、メールアドレス及びお問い合わせ内容を取得します。法人・団体からのお問い合わせ又は資料請求では、対象又は流入元サイト、用件、会社・組織名、部署名、役職、氏名、メールアドレス、電話番号、想定利用人数、導入検討時期、お問い合わせ項目及びお問い合わせ内容を取得することがあります。送信に伴うIPアドレス、アクセス記録その他の技術情報については、上記(5)に定めるとおりです。

(8) 組織管理対象アカウントに関する情報

勤務先、学校、教育機関、行政機関その他の法人・団体が本サービスの利用を管理する場合、所属する法人・団体、組織管理対象アカウントの種別、組織管理対象ユーザーの種別、役割及び権限、所属クラス、割り当てられたコース及び課題、座席又はライセンスの状態、学習進捗、提出内容、スコア、レポート、ランキング、ならびに法人・団体が作成又は管理するアカウント記録等を取得します。

2. 個人情報の取得方法

  1. お客様がアカウントを作成し、プロフィールを入力し、購入し、お問い合わせを行い、学習機能又はAI機能を利用する際に、お客様から直接取得する方法
  2. Cookie、ログその他これらに類する技術を用いて自動的に取得する方法
  3. 支払状況、サブスクリプション状況、アカウント関連事象を確認するために、決済代行会社、アプリストア事業者その他のサービス提供者から取得する方法
  4. 法人・団体、その代表者、管理者又は教師ユーザーが、ユーザーを招待若しくは作成し、権限を設定し、学習活動を割り当て、又は本サービスを管理する際に、当該法人・団体等から取得する方法

3. 組織管理対象アカウント

  1. 組織管理対象アカウントは、法人・団体の管理下で利用され、お客様が個人として利用するMeshclassアカウントとは別個に取り扱われます。
  2. 法人・団体は、組織管理対象アカウントを招待又は作成し、組織への所属、役割、権限、クラス、割り当てるコース及び課題、座席ならびに組織向け機能へのアクセスを管理することがあります。
  3. 本サービス及び法人・団体が付与した権限の範囲で、法人・団体の代表管理者及び教師ユーザーは、組織管理対象アカウントに関連するプロフィール情報、学習履歴、進捗、スコア、提出内容、利用状況及びレポートを閲覧又は管理することがあります。
  4. 当社は、組織及びユーザーの管理、クラス、課題、レポート、ランキング、座席管理、請求、セキュリティ、サポート及び契約管理のために、組織管理対象アカウントに関する情報を利用します。
  5. 法人・団体は、組織管理対象ユーザーの個人情報その他の情報を本サービスに登録し、利用するために必要な権限を有し、必要な通知又は同意取得を行う責任を負います。未成年者について必要な場合には、法人・団体が適切な措置を行います。
  6. 組織管理対象アカウントについては、当社が組織向けサービスの一部としてAI提供者による処理の設定を有効にします。組織管理対象ユーザー及び法人・団体の管理者は、この設定を変更することができません。組織管理対象ユーザーがAI機能を利用し、又は割り当てられたAI機能を含む学習活動を行う場合、当社は、当該機能の提供に必要なテキスト、音声、回答内容及び関連する文脈情報を、本ポリシーに記載したAI提供者に送信することがあります。
  7. 法人・団体との契約が終了し、又は法人・団体がユーザーを削除した場合、組織管理対象アカウント及びそのデータにアクセスできなくなることがあります。保存及び削除は、適用法令、正当な運用上の必要性ならびに適用される法人・団体との契約に従います。
  8. 組織管理対象ユーザーは、適用法令に基づく権利を行使するため、当社に直接連絡することができます。当社は、必要に応じて法人・団体と連携して請求に対応することがありますが、これにより法令上認められる権利が制限されるものではありません。

4. 個人情報の利用目的

  1. 本サービスの提供、維持、改善のため
  2. アカウントの作成、管理及び本人確認のため
  3. コース、レッスン、メッセージ、コメントその他の学習機能又はコミュニティ機能を提供するため
  4. 組織管理対象ユーザー、権限、クラス、コース、課題、学習レポート、ランキング、座席及び法人・団体との契約を管理するため
  5. 決済、サブスクリプション、返金、送金及びこれらに付随する会計処理のため
  6. お問い合わせ対応、通知送信及びカスタマーサポートのため
  7. ご請求いただいた資料の提供及び資料請求の管理のため
  8. お客様が希望したデモ、サービス内容、料金、見積り及び導入支援に関するご案内又は連絡のため
  9. コンテンツ、推奨表示、言語表示及び学習体験の最適化・個別化のため
  10. AIチャット、AIレッスン補助、テキストフィードバック、音声関連支援、翻訳その他AI機能を提供するため
  11. 利用分析、調査研究、品質改善及び新機能開発のため
  12. 不正利用、濫用、セキュリティ事故、規約違反又は法令違反の検知、防止及び調査のため
  13. 法令上の義務の履行並びに権利行使又は防御のため
お問い合わせ又は資料請求に関する情報を、当該お問い合わせ等と関係のない継続的なマーケティングには利用しません。

5. AIサービス及び第三者AI提供者について

本サービスの一部機能では、回答、解説、評価、音声、翻訳その他の学習支援を生成するために第三者のAIサービスを利用します。お客様がこれらのAI機能を利用する場合、当社は当該機能の提供に必要なデータを第三者AIサービス提供者に送信することがあります。

(1) AI提供者に送信される可能性があるデータ

機能に応じて、入力テキスト、チャット履歴、回答内容、音声又は発話入力、言語設定、生成に必要な関連文脈等を送信することがあります。なお、クレジットカード番号やセキュリティコードをAI提供者に送信することはありません。

(2) 当社が利用するAI関連提供者

当社が現在利用するAI関連サービス提供者には、Google LLC並びに同社のGemini、Text-to-Speech及びSpeech-to-Textの各サービスが含まれます。

(3) 送信目的

これらの情報は、お客様が利用するAI機能又は、組織管理対象アカウントについては、割り当てられたAI機能を含む学習活動を提供する目的に限って送信されます。たとえば、解説の生成、回答評価、AI会話又はAIレッスン体験の提供、音声生成、翻訳等のためです。

(4) AI機能の利用

個人アカウントについては、アカウント設定からAI提供者による処理を有効又は無効にすることができます。当該設定が有効な状態でAI機能を利用する場合、当社は、当該機能の提供に必要なデータを、本ポリシーに記載した第三者AIサービス提供者と共有して処理します。組織管理対象アカウントについては、当社が組織向けサービスの一部として当該設定を有効にし、組織管理対象ユーザー及び法人・団体の管理者はこれを変更することができません。

(5) 委託先による保護

当社は、AI提供者を含む第三者サービス提供者に対し、契約、利用条件その他拘束力のある保護措置に基づき、個人情報を適切に保護し、当社へのサービス提供又は適用法令で認められる範囲でのみ利用することを求めます。

(6) 日本国外での取扱い

AI提供者その他のサービス提供者は、日本国外で個人情報を取り扱う場合があります。当社は、当該取扱いについて適用される法令に基づき必要となる場合、契約上、技術上、組織上その他の拘束力のある保護措置を講じます。国外での取扱い及び適用される保護措置に関するお問い合わせは、下記の個人情報お問い合わせ窓口までご連絡ください。
お問い合わせ又は資料請求を送信したことのみをもって、その送信内容がAI提供者に送信されることはありません。

6. 個人情報の開示及びアクセス

当社は、お客様の個人情報を販売しません。次の場合には、個人情報を第三者に開示又は提供することがあります。
  1. お客様の同意がある場合
  2. 組織管理対象アカウントについて、アカウント管理及び組織向け学習機能の提供に必要な範囲で、法人・団体、その代表者、管理者又は教師ユーザーに提供する場合
  3. 決済、サブスクリプション、返金又は送金を処理するために、決済代行会社、アプリストア事業者、金融機関又は送金関連事業者へ提供する場合
  4. 本サービスの運営を支援するホスティング事業者、解析事業者、通信事業者、AI提供者その他の委託先へ提供する場合
  5. 法令、裁判所命令又は行政機関の要請に基づく場合
  6. お客様、当社又は第三者の権利、安全、財産又はセキュリティを保護するために必要な場合
  7. 合併、買収、資金調達、事業再編、資産譲渡その他これらに類する取引に関連する場合
法人・団体及びその権限を有するユーザーによるアクセスは、法人・団体との契約、付与された権限及び適用法令に基づく本サービス運営上のアクセスです。当社のために処理を行うインフラ、決済、解析、通信及びAIサービス提供者による取扱いとは区別されます。
お問い合わせ又は資料請求に関する情報は、当社に代わって当該連絡の受信、配信、安全確保及び管理を行うホスティング事業者、メールサービス提供者及び通信事業者により取り扱われる場合があります。これらの委託先は、当社へのサービス提供又は適用法令で認められる範囲でのみ当該情報を利用することができます。

7. Cookieその他類似技術

当社は、ログイン状態の維持、設定の記憶、本サービスの利用状況の把握、性能改善、セキュリティ対応及び解析のために、Cookieその他類似技術を利用します。Cookieはブラウザ設定で制御できますが、無効化すると本サービスの一部機能が利用できなくなる場合があります。

8. 個人情報の管理と安全管理措置

当社は、個人情報への不正アクセス、漏えい、滅失、改ざん又は不正利用を防止するため、合理的な組織的、技術的及び物理的安全管理措置を講じます。また、委託先に個人情報を取り扱わせる場合には、必要かつ適切な監督を行います。

9. 個人情報の保存期間

当社は、本ポリシーに記載した目的の達成に必要な期間（お問い合わせへの対応、資料請求及びこれらに関連する連絡の管理に必要な期間を含みます。）、法令上又は会計上の義務の履行に必要な期間、紛争解決及び契約執行に必要な期間、個人情報を保管します。組織管理対象アカウントについては、適用される法人・団体との契約、プラン及び本サービスの仕様により、アクセス、出力及び削除の時期が定まる場合があります。ユーザー若しくは法人・団体から削除の請求があった後又は法人・団体との契約終了後であっても、法令遵守、請求及び会計、監査、セキュリティ、不正利用防止、紛争対応、バックアップ又はシステム運用のために合理的に必要な情報を保存することがあります。

10. お客様の権利と選択肢

適用法令に従い、お客様は、ご自身の個人情報について、開示、訂正、削除又は利用停止を求めることができます。組織管理対象アカウントについては、当社が必要に応じて法人・団体と連携して対応することがあり、法人・団体との契約又は適法な保存義務により、アカウントへのアクセス又は削除の時期及び範囲が影響を受ける場合があります。これにより、適用法令上認められるお客様の権利が制限されるものではありません。個人アカウントについては、アカウント設定からAI提供者による処理を無効にすることができ、その場合、関連するAI機能は利用できなくなります。

11. 本ポリシーの変更

当社は、本ポリシーを随時変更することがあります。重要な変更を行う場合には、本サービス上で更新後のポリシーを掲載し、必要に応じて本サービス内その他適切な方法により通知します。
