Privacy Policy

Meshclass, Inc. (hereinafter referred to as "the Company") establishes this Privacy Policy (hereinafter referred to as "this Policy") as follows, to ensure that our customers can use the Japanese learning platform "Meshclass" (hereinafter referred to as "the Service") operated by the Company with peace of mind. The Company, its officers, and all employees comply with the laws and regulations regarding the protection of personal information.

1. Personal Information Acquired by the Company

In this Policy, "personal information" refers to information that can identify a specific individual by combining one or more pieces of information. The personal information collected by the Company from customers varies depending on the method (type of account) by which the customer uses the Service. Below are examples of the personal information the Company collects.

(1) Account

To use certain functions (such as purchasing or providing courses), customers need to create an account. When a customer creates or updates an account, the Company stores the name, email address, and password provided by the customer and assigns a unique ID number to the customer.

(2) Profile

Customers can choose to provide information such as hometown, current address, hobbies, and photos for student accounts, or headline, location, features, and photos for school accounts. Customer profiles are viewable by others.

(3) Shared Content

In the Service, customers with school accounts can publish videos, and customers with student accounts can comment on or rate videos and comments. The same functions are available on the course introduction pages provided by school accounts, and such shared content is viewable by others.

(4) Payment Information of Students

When customers with student accounts purchase courses, they need to provide information required for payment processing (name, credit card information, billing address, postal code, etc.) directly to the payment agency contracted by the Company. For security reasons, the Company does not collect or store confidential information regarding cardholders (detailed credit card numbers, card verification data, etc.).

(5) Payment Information of Schools

Customers with school accounts need to provide Japanese bank account information to the Company to receive payments from the Company. This information is viewable only by the customer providing it and the Company.

2. Methods of Acquiring Personal Information

The Company acquires personal information by lawful and fair means and does not acquire it by fraudulent methods contrary to the customer's will. Even when acquiring personal information from third parties, the Company confirms that the personal information acquired was obtained properly by the information provider.

3. Management of Personal Information

The Company takes reasonable safety measures and preventive and corrective measures to manage personal information safely, prevent loss, damage, leakage, and unauthorized use, and appoints a person responsible for handling personal information. The Company also strives to manage personal information accurately and up-to-date within the scope of the purpose of use.

4. Purpose of Use of Personal Information

Except with the consent of the customer, the Company does not use the acquired personal information beyond the scope of the following purposes of use.
  1. To provide the Service
  2. To verify the identity of the customer or the customer's agent
  3. To contact customers and provide various information, such as products and services recommended by the Company
  4. To customize information on the Service, the Service itself, and advertisements according to the customer's age, occupation, gender, hobbies, etc.
  5. For marketing (surveys, conducting questionnaires, etc.), data analysis, and research and development of the Service
  6. To properly and smoothly fulfill transactions with customers and other transaction partners, and to perform other administrative tasks related to transactions with customers and transaction partners
  7. To exercise rights and fulfill obligations under contracts with customers and based on laws and regulations
  8. For other purposes incidental to the above

5. Provision of Personal Information to Third Parties

The Company does not disclose or provide customers' personal information to third parties without the customer's consent. However, in the following cases, personal data may be disclosed or provided without the customer's consent.
  1. When required by law
  2. When it is necessary to protect human life, body, or property, and it is difficult to obtain the customer's consent
  3. When it is particularly necessary to improve public health or promote the sound growth of children, and it is difficult to obtain the customer's consent
  4. When it is necessary to cooperate with a government agency, local public entity, or a party entrusted by them in performing affairs prescribed by law, and obtaining the customer's consent is likely to impede the execution of those affairs
  5. When the Company entrusts all or part of the operations necessary for the operation of the Service to a business contractor with whom the Company has concluded a confidentiality agreement
  6. When the Company deposits personal information with payment agencies, credit companies, and financial institutions with whom the Company has concluded a confidentiality agreement for the purpose of billing customers who purchase courses on the Service

6. Supervision of Contractors

When the Company has external contractors handle the acquired personal information, the Company conducts strict investigations of those contractors and conducts necessary and appropriate supervision to ensure confidentiality.

7. Disclosure, Correction, Suspension of Use, and Deletion of Personal Information

When a customer requests the disclosure of their personal information, the Company promptly conducts an investigation and, if it determines that correction, suspension of use, or deletion is necessary, responds accordingly. However, if disclosure falls under any of the following cases, all or part of the information may not be disclosed.
  1. When there is a risk of harming the life, body, property, or other rights and interests of the customer or a third party
  2. When there is a risk of significantly hindering the proper execution of the Company's business
  3. When it violates other laws and regulations

8. About Cookies

Cookies are data sent and received between the customer's computer browser and the server for the purpose of making it more convenient for the customer to revisit the Company's website. Cookies are stored in the customer's browser and may be referenced by the server. The files sent as cookies from the Service do not contain information that can identify individuals, do not infringe on the customer's privacy, and do not adversely affect the customer's computer. The Service uses cookies for the following purposes.
  1. To confirm the customer's login status and implement various functions of the Service
  2. To investigate the usage status of the Service, conduct marketing, and improve the Service
Customers can choose settings related to the sending and receiving of cookies, such as "Allow all cookies," "Reject all cookies," or "Notify the user when receiving cookies." The method of setting varies depending on the browser. Please check the "Help" menu of your browser for how to set cookies. Please note that if you choose to reject all cookies, you may not be able to receive some parts of the Service.

9. Changes to the Privacy Policy

Except for matters specified separately in this Policy and laws, the content of this Policy may be changed without the customer's consent. If the content is changed, the Company will notify the customer in advance, and the changes will take effect when posted on the Service's website.

10. Complaints and Consultations Regarding Personal Information

If there are any complaints or consultations regarding the Company's handling of personal information, the Company will respond promptly and appropriately at the following Personal Information Consultation Desk.

プライバシーポリシー

Meshclass株式会社（以下、「当社」といいます。）は、当社が運営する日本語学習プラットフォーム「Meshclass」（以下、「本サービス」といいます。）をお客様に安心してご利用いただけるよう、個人情報保護に関する法律及び関係法令諸規則を役員及び全従業員が遵守するとともに、以下のとおりプライバシーポリシー（以下、「本ポリシー」といいます。）を定めます。

1. 当社が取得する個人情報

本ポリシーにおいて「個人情報」とは、一つ又は複数の組み合わせにより、特定の個人を識別することができる情報をいいます。当社がお客様から収集する個人情報は、お客様が本サービスを利用する方法（アカウントの種類）によって異なります。以下に当社が収集する個人情報の例を挙げます。

(1) アカウント

特定の機能（コースの購入や提供など）を利用するには、アカウントを作成していただく必要があります。お客様がアカウントを作成または更新した場合、当社は、お客様から提供された氏名、メールアドレス、パスワードを保管し、お客様に一意のID番号を割り当てます。

(2) プロフィール

お客様は、学生アカウントであれば出身地、現住所、趣味、写真など、学校アカウントであれば、見出し、所在地、特徴、写真などの提供を選択することができます。お客様のプロフィールは他の人に閲覧可能な状態となります。

(3) 共有コンテンツ

本サービスでは、学校アカウントのお客様が動画を公開し、学生アカウントのお客様がコメントをしたり、動画やコメントに対して評価をしたりすることができます。学校アカウントが提供するコースの紹介ページにおいても同様の機能があり、そうした共有コンテンツは、他の人に閲覧可能な状態となります。

(4) 学生の支払情報

学生アカウントのお客様がコースを購入する際、支払処理に必要な情報（ご氏名、クレジットカード情報、請求先住所、郵便番号など）を入力し、当社の委託先である決済代行会社に直接提供いただく必要があります。なお、セキュリティ上の理由により、当社がカード所有者に関する機密情報（クレジットカード番号の詳細、カード認証データなど）を収集したり、保管したりすることはありません。

(5) 学校の支払情報

学校アカウントのお客様は、当社から支払いを受けるために、日本の銀行口座情報を当社に提供いただく必要があります。なお、この情報は提供者であるお客様と当社以外は閲覧することはできません。

2. 個人情報の取得方法

当社は、適法かつ公正な手段によって個人情報を取得し、お客様の意思に反する不正な方法により取得することはいたしません。また、第三者から個人情報を取得する場合でも、その取得する個人情報が、情報提供者により適正に取得されたものであるかを確認します。

3. 個人情報の管理

当社は、個人情報の滅失、き損、漏洩及び不正利用等を防止し、個人情報の取扱責任者を設置し、個人情報を安全に管理するため合理的な安全対策及び予防・是正措置を講じます。また、当社は個人情報を利用目的の範囲内において、正確かつ最新の状態で管理するように努めます。

4. 個人情報の利用目的

当社は、お客様ご本人の同意がある場合を除き、取得した個人情報を以下の利用目的の範囲を超えて利用いたしません。
  1. 本サービスを提供するため
  2. お客様ご本人、又はご本人の代理人であることを確認するため
  3. お客様への連絡、当社がおすすめする商品・サービスなどの各種情報の提供を行うため
  4. お客様の年齢、職業、性別、趣味等に合わせて本サービス上の情報、本サービス及び広告配信をカスタマイズするため
  5. マーケティング（調査、アンケートの実施等）、データ分析や本サービスの研究や開発に利用するため
  6. お客様及びお客様以外の他の取引相手先との取引を適切かつ円滑に履行するため、その他お客様及び取引相手先との取引に関する事務を行うため
  7. お客様との契約、ならびに法令等に基づく権利の行使や義務の履行のため
  8. その他、上記に付随する目的のため

5. 個人情報の第三者提供

当社が保有するお客様の個人情報は、お客様の同意なしに第三者に開示・提供いたしません。ただし、以下の場合はお客様の同意なく個人データを開示・提供することがあります。
  1. 法令に基づく場合
  2. 人の生命、身体又は財産の保護のために必要がある場合であって、お客様の同意を得ることが困難である場合
  3. 公衆衛生の向上又は児童の健全な育成の推進のために特に必要がある場合であって、お客様の同意を得ることが困難である場合
  4. 国の機関若しくは地方公共団体又はその委託を受けた者が法令の定める事務を遂行することに対して協力する必要がある場合であって、お客様の同意を得ることにより当該事務の遂行に支障を及ぼすおそれがある場合
  5. 当社と守秘義務契約を結んだ業務委託先に、本サービスの運営に必要な業務の全部又は一部を委託する場合
  6. 本サービスのコースを購入するお客様に利用料金を請求する目的で、当社と守秘義務契約を結んだ業務委託先である決済代行会社、クレジット会社および金融機関に個人情報を預託する場合

6. 委託先の監督について

取得した個人情報を外部委託先に取り扱わせる場合には、その委託先につき厳正な調査を行ったうえ、秘密を保持させるために必要かつ適切な監督を行います。

7. 個人情報の開示・訂正・利用停止・消去について

お客様の個人情報は、お客様ご本人からお申し出があった場合に、遅滞なくその調査を行い、訂正・利用の停止・消去を必要とする事由があると判断された場合はこれに応じます。ただし、開示することにより以下のいずれかに該当する場合は、その全部又は一部を開示しない場合があります。
  1. お客様又は第三者の生命、身体、財産その他の権利・利益を害するおそれがある場合
  2. 当社の業務の適正な実施に著しい支障を及ぼすおそれがある場合
  3. 他の法令に違反することとなる場合

8. クッキー（Cookie）について

クッキー（Cookies）は、お客様が当社のウェブサイトに再度訪問された際、より便利に当サイトを閲覧していただくために、お客様の使用するコンピュータのブラウザとサーバとの間で送受信されるデータです。クッキーはお客様のブラウザ内に保存され、サーバから参照されることがありますが、本サービスよりクッキーとして送るファイルには、個人を特定するような情報は含んでおらず、お客様のプライバシーを侵害するものではなく、またお客様のコンピュータへ悪影響を及ぼすことはありません。本サービスでは、以下の目的のためにクッキーを使用しています。
  1. お客様のログイン状況の確認や本サービスの各種機能の実装のため
  2. 本サービスの利用状況の調査や、マーケティング、サービス改善のため
なお、お客様は、クッキーの送受信に関する設定を「すべてのクッキーを許可する」、「すべてのクッキーを拒否する」、「クッキーを受信したらユーザーに通知する」などから選択できます。設定方法は、ブラウザにより異なります。クッキーに関する設定方法は、お使いのブラウザの「ヘルプ」メニューでご確認ください。上記につきまして、すべてのクッキーを拒否する設定を選択されますと、本サービスの一部を受けられなくなりますのでご注意ください。

9. プライバシーポリシーの変更

本ポリシーの内容は、法令その他本ポリシーに別段の定めのある事項を除いて、お客様の承諾を得ることなく、変更することができるものとします。内容を変更する場合は、当社からお客様に事前に通知し、その効力は本サービスのウェブサイトに掲載したときから生じるものとします。

10. 個人情報に関する苦情及び相談について

当社では、当社の個人情報の取り扱いに関する苦情及び相談等があった場合には、下記の個人情報相談窓口にて、迅速かつ適切な対応をいたします。
